  Concurrent Events  -   Hotel Asia International Culinary Challenge  - A focal point of the exhibition will be the Culinary Challenge, renowned for its legacy of cultivating world-class Chefs over the years. Endorsed by WACS and internationally recognized as a World Chefs Competition, it stands as a major highlight of the event.

The inception of the Culinary Challenge aimed to inspire local Maldivians to venture into a culinary landscape predominantly occupied by foreigners. Today, the increasing number of locals pursuing careers in the culinary field stands as evidence that the Culinary Challenge has not only sparked interest but also paved the way for aspiring culinary enthusiasts. The prevailing belief is that success at the Hotel Asia International Culinary Challenge serves as a testament to one’s capability anywhere in the world, underscoring the caliber of the judging panel.

Project Director Alan Palmer, a seasoned Chef with over 62 years of experience, will be among the esteemed judges. As an Honorary Lifetime Member of the World Association of Chefs Societies (WACS), Chef Alan Palmer’s name is not just synonymous with the glamour of culinary arts but also commands respect and admiration in the truest sense.


  Hotel Asia Exhibition  -   

The 19th edition of the Hotel Asia Exhibition & International Culinary Challenge stands as a premier assembly within the Maldives’ hospitality sector.

Originating in the year 2000 with a modest commencement involving 37 chefs, the Hotel Asia Exhibition has undergone a remarkable transformation, evolving into the distinguished exhibition and trade show it stands as today. Initially held biennially until 2008, the event transitioned to an annual schedule thereon. Despite the pause last year due to unavoidable circumstances, we are now poised to launch the event with renewed strength this year.

The Hotel Asia Exhibition boasts a diverse participation from exhibitors and brands representing 45 countries, including Sri Lanka, India, The Maldives, China, Thailand, Australia, New Zealand, Dubai, Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Canada, Germany, Italy, USA, and Switzerland, occupying 275 stalls. Numerous Resorts, Hotels, Restaurants, and Food and Beverage establishments have also confirmed their enthusiastic participation. It is also eagerly anticipated as one of the premier events in the Maldives. This year too, the Hotel Asia Exhibition will be sponsored by many colossuses in the industry.
